Hometown: Little Rock, AR
Undergrad/Medical School: Univ. of Colorado/Univ. of Arkansas
I chose UAMS Internal Medicine Residency: I was raised in Little Rock, and am looking forward to serving the people of my home state. UAMS has extremely competitive fellowship match and board pass rates, the residents are diverse and collegial, and the range of pathology because of our location and position is second to none.
My future plan after residency: Critical Care vs. Hospitalist
In my free time, I like to: Spend time outdoors -floating down a river, sleeping under the stars, or working in my garden. I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, and exploring different places. When I don’t want to leave the house, I love taking naps with my black lab, Stella.
Something you would never guess about me / fun fact about me: In college, I averaged 30+ days of skiing a year. I’m obsessed with airplanes and the logistics of air travel. When I retire from Medicine, I want to own and work on a flower farm.
My favorite place to eat/looking forward to trying in Little Rock: Little Rock has a surprising number of good restaurants for a small city. I love Mexican food, particularly La Hacienda. Buffalo Grill for a good burger (and cheesy fries). Or Brave New Restaurant when I feel like being fancy.
My favorite part about living/looking forward to exploring in Little Rock: Because of the relatively inexpensive cost of living here, I was able to buy a house not far from where I grew up, and I am excited to begin making it mine. After spending all my money on my house, travel, and my dog, I am also grateful to have my family here from whom I can steal food and toilet paper.
