Llanos, Oscar

Hometown: Lima, Peru

Undergrad/Medical School: Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia

I chose UAMS Internal Medicine Residency because: It is objectively, a University program with outstanding clinical and research opportunities. Since it is the biggest teaching hospital in the state, it gives the opportunity to see everything. Subjectively, and more importantly, the people. During the interview trail, I knew I wanted a great program, but also a great environment. UAMS is full of amazing people, after only a few weeks you will feel at home.

My future plan after residency: Pulmonary/Critical Care. There is nothing else.

Something you would never guess about me / fun fact about me: I am a really bad soccer player, but an awesome Pro Evolution Soccer player.

My favorite part about living in Little Rock: Little Rock is great. There are a lot of great restaurants.

My favorite place to eat in Little Rock: Fu Lin (I go so often, that they know my name and what I order depending on the day of the week).

In my free time: I like to go to Murray’s park and play with Procer (my dog). I also binge on Netflix depending on what they are showing at the time. I also enjoy reading about physics, playing videogames and napping.
