I am happy to be here and have enjoyed being part of this division. As a member of this division, I have been able to pursue my passion in teaching and research. I also remain optimistic about the visions of the UAMS, the Department of Medicine and the Division of Nephrology.

What do you like about nephrology?

  • As most of the IMGs, I wanted to do cardiology or Hem-Onc. During residency, I noted nephrologists were the most intellectual group of doctors. They loved teaching. They always taught physiology to make me understand pathophysiology. They were always available and supportive. I found true mentors in the nephrologists. From UAB to UT Southwestern, I have been fortunate to train under the most dedicated faculty members from the division of nephrology. That’s why I am very passionate about academic nephrology.

Why Little Rock?

  • I came to Little Rock for family reasons. I continue to work here because of the Division Chief. He is the “Force” that keeps all of us together. As an institution, UAMS has been supportive of my professional growth. ArkanaLab has been a great resource to learn nephropath on an ongoing basis. The work-life balance has been excellent.
