KIDNEYcon is an annual three-day meeting designed to provide updates on the latest advances in kidney care in a hands-on collaborative format. The meeting features a scientific and clinical conference, hands-on workshops that simulate realistic practice conditions, and a session dedicated to collaborative research.  A key component of KIDNEYcon’s mission is to build enthusiasm for the field of nephrology among residents and fellows and to encourage research careers in nephrology.  KIDNEYcon is a platform for nephrologists and medicine trainees to interact with each other and experts from across the nation and learn about and discuss recent advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease, form mentor relationships, and develop research collaborations.

KIDNEYcon 2019 will provide participants with the tools to correctly identify and determine optimal prevention and treatment of patients with hypertension, acute kidney injury, glomerular disease, and chronic kidney disease, as well as provide strategies to enhance clinical research and enthusiasm for the field of nephrology at all academic levels. The conference will feature five hands-on workshops:

1) The Kidney Biopsy Academy
2) House Staff to Physician Scientist:  How Do I Get There From Here?
3) Career Development and Professional Advancement (Sponsored by Women in Nephrology)
4) Kidney Pathology
5) Acid/Base Fluids and Electrolytes
