Sarenthia McClellandHometown: El Dorado, Arkansas

Undergrad/Medical School: U of A Fayetteville/ UAMS

I chose UAMS Internal Medicine Residency because: During medical school at UAMS, I was able to experience the Internal Medicine Residency program from a medical student’s perspective. I was able to witness the camaraderie among residents, the vast research opportunities, diverse patient population, and the dedication facility showed to teaching medical students and residents. UAMS possessed everything I looked for in an Internal Medicine Residency program.

My future plan after residency: Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship

Something you would never guess about me / fun fact about me: I love to travel and learn about different cultures. On one excursion, I traveled to Australia and played a didgeridoo with Aborigines.

My favorite part about living in Little Rock: Little Rock offers a vast array of restaurants and outdoor activities. I personally enjoy the wide variety of outdoor activities, such as bike riding, climbing Pinnacle Mountain, and walking/running on the Arkansas Trails. Also, Little Rock is a beautiful “big city” without the “big city” traffic.

My favorite places to eat in Little Rock: Gusano’s, Gus’s Fried Chicken, and Copelands

In my free time: I like to travel, spend time with family and friends, and relax on the beach while reading a good book.
